Wi-Fi theft clears users
A court in Germany has ruled that any internet user who has a wireless router can not be held responsible should somebody manage to get into the network and do their stuff on the P2P sites which are being monitored.
This ruling will eventually be taken up across Europe including the UK which is going to cause no end of problems for the legal cases currently in process or those that are being planned by the lawyers who have been hired by copyright holders.
The cases against these alleged file sharers is based in the fact that they believe that the bill payer is responsible for whatever happens on their network. But this ruling in Germany is likely to throw many of their cases out and put the whole process in doubt.
