EU moving against pirates

It will not be long before the elected members of the European Parliament will have to make their minds up and vote on the Medina Report. This is the report that has been looking into copyright piracy, its effects and how to deal with the problems associated with it.

However, despite being a new report, this just follows the line that the organisations that represent the music, film and TV industries have been demanding from internet service providers. Including the rule that repeat offenders are thrown off the internet, even though the EU had already voted against this.

ISP’s will be asked to report on offenders and filter copyright infringing material through their networks, which is going to go down well with all users.
