Microsoft and the new gaming piracy tech

Microsoft have been adding a number additions to their Games for Windows security, these are mainly directed at the prevention of piracy. It could be said that it is like Digital Rights Management (DRM) but don’t let Microsoft hear any say that.

They have anti piracy measures in place, but according to Microsoft it is definitely not DRM, they have zero day piracy protection that helps reduce the IP leakage before the release of the product.

It is encrypted and with a once only activation key that checks to see if the game has been released or not, piracy is impossible, they think!

Of course, this only works while the game is not available to buy; once it is released, then this security feature will not work.
