France rejects three strikes policy

First of all the French government voted for the proposed three strikes and you are off the internet policy, but then they appear to have change their minds and have rejected the copyright holders plans to punish illegal file sharers with banishment.

What happened was the French parliament passed the law, but this had to go through the French Senate and National Assembly, but it did not go as smoothly as they government planned as the law was rejected.

As with all political procedures that is not the end of the matter, we have seen this type of thing here in the UK. What will happen now is that there will be a few conversations and palm pressing. Then when the new law is presented again it will just slip through with no problem.
