Conficker begins to stir

First, there was the danger of the Conficker worm stirring, then it was described as an April Fool’s joke and now it seems that the worm is turning according to internet security experts who are monitoring Conficker activity.

It seems that the worm that happened simply to pass straight through a hole in Microsoft is alive and slivering around with an estimated computer network of around twelve million units.

The hole was patched late last year but only after the worm had managed to get a foothold. The security industry believes that the creation of the worm is not intended as destroyer by as a builder.

Conficker is a money making programme and this new activity is the first step of putting the network into action.
