$300 billion fighter jet project is hacked

There are concerns that the aircraft supposed to spearhead the defence of the US and its allies the F-35 may have been compromised by hackers getting into the project files and stealing terabytes of information.

The project is jointly run by the Pentagon and the aircraft maker Lockheed Martin Corp, who are denying that anything like this has taken place, but there are claims that details of the design and electronics have been taken.

If this is true then the future of the plane is at risk, as any weaknesses could be exploited by an enemy.

The story comes from former US officials, they are claiming that hackers originating in China are responsible for the breach of security, but even if they are, they are hardly likely to admit it.
