The top ten torrent sites

With 2007 in the past now it’s that time of year when we start to see lists of what has done well, and torrents are no different, they have their own little place on the net and there is a top ten of these sites that have got some serious traffic.

Here is the list, as of December 29, public BitTorrent sites only.

1. Mininova - Alexa rank: 46
2. IsoHunt - Alexa rank: 143
3. The Pirate Bay - Alexa rank: 147
4. Torrentz - Alexa rank: 160
5. BTjunkie - Alexa rank: 445
6. TorrentSpy - Alexa rank: 461
7. TorrentPortal - Alexa rank: 481
8. GamesTorrents - Alexa rank: 583
9. TorrentReactor - Alexa rank: 604
10. BTmon - Alexa rank: 673

Top 5 Newcomers

1. SumoTorrent - Alexa rank: 1021
2. SeedPeer - Alexa rank: 2924
3. Zoozle - Alexa rank: 2987
4. Extratorrent - Alexa rank: 5304
5. BitTorrent.am - Alexa rank: 6903

The big loser in the list is Torrent Spy; they fell from 1st to 6th and despite all of their “Legal” problems the Pirate Bay still ended up in third place.
